No Concerts Planned for 2020/2021 Season
Due to COVID-19 the Kingston Choral Society is not planning any concerts for the 2020/2021 Season.
However the Kingston Choral Society is "Alive and Well" and our members will be rehearsing and learning throughout this difficult year.
A mixed model of in-person and virtual rehearsals has been developed which has been endorsed by Dr. Kieran Moore, director of KFLA Public Health. Our rehearsal space at The Spire will safely handle 40 people socially distanced. Each singer will wear a specially designed "singers mask" to reduce viral transmission. The remainder of our normally 100 member chorus will attend virtually and participate in other virtual learning and practice activities.
While health and safety is our top priority it is also critical that KCS's fiscal position remain healthy. We survive on both membership fees ($200 this year) and income from concerts. Without this concert income our fiscal situation has become very tight. We are asking members and the public to consider donating to the Kingston Choral Society to sustain us through this difficult year. As we operate under the umbrella of the Kingston Symphony Association the KSA will issue tax receipts for donations ear-marked for the Choral Society. We will shortly post an address to which donations can be sent.
